BOSTON - Sovereign Bank today celebrated the grand re-opening of its branch at Pratt Institute’s North Hall at 200 Willoughby Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. Representatives from Sovereign, a part of Banco Santander, joined local business leaders, Pratt faculty members, and customers at a ribbon cutting ceremony in the branch.
The branch at Pratt Institute will provide financial expertise and banking solutions tailored to the Institute’s students, faculty and staff. The branch features two teller stations and will be supported by three staff members, including Branch Manager Mervin Clemente. One full service walk up ATM is also accessible within North Hall.
“The goal of this newly renovated branch is to better serve the students and faculty here at Pratt Institute,” said Josephine Moran, Senior Retail Market Executive for Sovereign’s Metro New York and Northern New Jersey market. “We’re proud to have a branch location right here on campus.”
During the ceremony Sovereign through Santander Universities Global Division, presented a gift that will support the Institute’s studio jewelry program in the undergraduate fine arts department. The gift, which was presented to Patricia Madeja, coordinator of Pratt’s jewelry program, will also provide a scholarship for a student in the program. Santander Universities is a major initiative created by Banco Santander to support higher education and academic research to advance the bank’s goal of expanding knowledge and experience globally.
